Hi, Has anyone used some good meaning naming standards for database tables? We have mainly data and code tables. I was trying to develop some standard table prefixes that would make them easily distinguish between the type table types, such as d_<table name> for data tables and c_<table name> for code tables. Of course I have to contend with the 18-character limit with IDS 7.31 until we upgrade. Any suggestions out there? Thank you, Tony Database Administrator
Tony, We use tblname_table for tables, and tblname_rec for data. And, of course, tblname_blob for blobs. Good enough granularity for our needs.
