Date Query

Hi I am working on informix online 7.3. If i have a date 31/01/99 or any year and if i had an query like this select date("31/01/1999") +1 units month this query fails and the message given is "Value of DateTime computation is out of range". The same occurs for 31st of any month. This also occurs for Select date("29/02/2000") +1 units year. This seems to be a leap year problem. Is there any way that Informix hadles such cases or should we take care of this problem while coding. How can you add 1 month to the 31st of Jan ? February doesn't have enough days. > select date("31/01/1999") +1 units month this query fails and the > message given is "Value of DateTime computation is out of range".
