I haven't got a chance to work on OnLine 7 yet, so my answer to your =
question is based on my <=3D5.x knowledge. I think that you need to =
reinitialise your informix disk space if you want to change the logical =
log file size. Following are the steps I would take:
1. Do a backup of the database(s), e.g. dbunload or dbexport, but do =
not use Informix archive, as the control information might be different =
after changing the log size. (Am I right ?) May worthwhile to turn the =
logging off as well. dbunload may be better, as you don't need to worry =
about dbspace and extent information.
2. Bring the instance to Queisent mode, and change the log size thru =
tbmonitor or vi the tbconfig file.
3. Reinitialise disk space by either type: tbinit -i, or thru =
tbmonitor. BE SURE you have got the correct env.
3A. If you were using dbunload, dbaccess to create the database(s) =
first.
4. Restore the database(s). Changing the log mode to their previous =
mode.
Question:
* Why do you want to do that? How many log files have you got and what =
size? What about adding more log files? (You may need to change the =
LOGSMAX parameter)
Pls verify my steps with your IFMX manual. Good Luck.
Sean.
