Hello, somewhere I read :-)) that IX DBSPACE is limited to 2GB and NTFS to 4GB. I have 10GB HDD for Informix only (IDSWE 7.30) and PII server. Exists better solution than 5x 2GB NTFS? Thanks Leos

You can have other drives *much* larger (we have a 32Gb drive D: with no problem) Andy -- -- - Remove nospam. from address when replying by email - Any Opinions Expressed within are Mine and not necessarily those of my Employer

If you need a 10 Gb dbspace, created 5 x 2Gb chunks and put them in the same dbspace.

Informix dbspaces are not limited to 2GB, each of the chunks that make up a dbspace is limited to 2GB but a dbspace can be made up of as many as 2048 chunks for a max dbspace size of 4TB. You can create a larger filesystem and add Informix chunks as 5 or more files less than or equal to 2GB in that filesystem. Art S. Kagel
