If your form is written in 4GL, it would be a snap not displaying this field and then automatically filling it right before your INSERT or UPDATE. If your form is written in Perform, you would be able to put the field on a "hidden" screen and then fill it using AFTER EDITADD or AFTER EDITUPDATE. DAS -- David A.
