Yes.
Literal strings are limited to 256 bytes. However, you are only limited to
32k-1 if you use a host variable -- and that's because you can't have a row
bigger than 32k-1 (ignoring blobs). You would use ? in place of the
variable name, because you're using dynamic SQL, and would supply the value
via a USING clause or an sqlda structure or a DESCRIPTOR.
