I'm running 7.20.UC3. Recently I discovered a slow-performing sql
which wasn't using an index. Looking at it simplistically, I expected
it to use an available index. 'Update statistics' is run nightly
against this slowly changing table.
I had OPTCOMPIND=2, but didn't pay any attention to it.
Informix support suggested OPTCOMPIND=0. I made the change, re-ran the
sql - now it uses the index and is fast. Haven't noticed other sql
being adversely affected by this change.
