Can anyone tell me how much >merit >this >statement of my software vendor has? OLTP: How much data have you got? Your software vendor is being time- and cost-effective (lazy). I can *always* outperform RAID eventually with manual placement, but do you want to pay me for six months while I do it? And keep paying me to keep it optimised? :-) If you haven't got tons of data, I'd go with Informix fragmentation. If you have got tons of data, go with RAID10. DSS: Your software vendor is dumb. If you don't fragment, you can't use PDQ. 8-) ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com
