RE: Sales Ledger for Informix

FourGen was a good package and yes companies that purchased it usually customize it heavily to fit your business model. The VAR's were the backbone of there distribution network, then FourGen cut them off and tried to move that part of the business in house and that is what caused them to sell out to HKSystem. I know a lot of companies that still use the system, and there case tools were pretty good also, for Informix 4GL and custom code. A company I used to work for bought it but never implemented it. The consensus was that it wasn't useable and FourGen's response was basically, "Of course not, you have to customize it to fit the needs of the business." The bosses thought it a bit pricey to not at least work generically out of the box. == Maintainer of the procrastinator's FAQ.
