Re: Serial Values for Pre-Informix 7.x

Jim You cant use DBINFO in version 5.x, you would need to use a ESQL/C or 4GL program that inserts the record and returns the serial value of the record inserted to the calling program. You could call this program with command line arguments (representing the column values with the serial column value set to 0) from your ASP program. However, I've tried using this method on previous versions of Informix (Version 5.x) with no luck. I'm using Active Server pages with ADO and the Intersolv ODBC drivers, so I have to figure out a way to do this using SQL without using "DBINFO ('sqlca.sqlerrd2')". Any help would be greatly appreciated.
