OO really has to be thought out before you start writting code. I am very new to OO programming. But I really like what I see in OOP, but it is hard to prove to management that it will take 4 months to build some objects. Management likes to see a screen and it working correctly. (Fast Development) And there is always problems when you try to develop an application fast. NewEra is based on OO, you have to do some design work before you start building the application. But I am sure with all tool that you could write a fast application. Have you used NewEra? I would like to hear from people what they like and dislike about NewEra. At this point, I don't really care about the cost. I just want to use the best development tool to write a mission critical client/server application running against Informix DBMS. Matt ps. sorry if this goes out twice, problems with the mail reader!
