Assuming you have the disk space.
1. Backup your logical logs to disk.
2. At night do an ontape level 0
3. When ontape is done fast forward past the level 0
(do this on the non-rewind device)
4. put your logical logs from disk to tape.
5. If you want you can even tar some more stuff after that.(if you have room)
