RE: Temporarily blocking SOCKETS connections
Posted in 2000
Are you sure you commented it out in the sqlhosts file.
I dont have a box to test my memory on, but I thought I recalled
if you didnt comment out the NETTYPE and did comment
out the sqlhosts entry the database wouldnt even come up.
(I have been mistaken many a time before)
Anyway, I have deleted an entry in the sqlhosts file as well
as the NETTYPE in the ONCONFIG file for the exact purpose, so can
tell you it worked for me, but I dont know what you are doing wrong.
Are you sure INFORMIXSQLHOSTS isnt defined or something?
Are you sure the entries were removed when you bounced the database.
(You do have to bounce the database as far as I know.)
