Is this > a planned future feature for SQL2? for INFORMIX? anywhere? The Informix standard products provide security on the database, table and column level. Informix Online/Secure, a special version of Informix for secure envirements provides security on the row level. A user cannot select, update, etc .. rows in a table that have a higher level of security then the user. The user can deal with rows on the same level as they are. The Informix 4.1 that you have, has database, table and column security. You can sort of do row level security with views. You would create a view of the rows you want a user to access, grant privileges to the view, and revoke the underlying table privileges.
