That doesn't sound right...
You should be able to do that with onbar without hacking the ixbar.
Informix wouldn't leave you in the wind like that....
Art?
Martin?
JL?

You are looking to achieve perpertual roll-forward using onbar :)
This can be done, but it is a "cheat" and one that is not supported ...
no doubt, in that you have to issue an onbar -r -l to a logical log that
is not present yet :D
So ...
onbar -r -p
Physical restore completes (with no logical log salvage which is
important in this scenario)
ixbar has the last logical log entry as, say, 10 ...
onbar -r -l 11
Check in the bar_act.log file and you will see "logical restore
suspended ...
Then when you have log 11 available, and the entry is in the ixbar file,
you can then either continue the perpertual rollforward by issuing
onbar -r -l 12
OR you can complete the logical recovery by issuing
onbar -r -l 11
Still ... don't believe me, believe the pudding (The Big Pudding)
