Buffered logging means, that buffer will be flashed when it's full. Unbuffered logging takes much log space but ensure that no transaction will be lost. Buffered logging means faster writes to logical logs but if you switch power off, with transactions in buffer, this transactions will be lost. ------------------------------------------------- With best regards, Yuri Dovgart SAP R/3, Informix technical consultant, Informix Certified Professional, Senior System Consultant System Architecture and High Availability Systems, 'Telecominvest' company Email y_dovgart@tci.ukrtel.net ICQ 39284285
Hi Can anybody shed light on Buffered Log Databases vs. Unbuffered Log Database? How one would recommend Buffered log or unbuffered log database when you are running with ERP and have 128-users accessing the database having 20,000 tables or above. Shall be grateful on any suggestions or comments. regards Muhammad Usman Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Before you buy.
