ODBC and Datablades

Hello- I have just recently started with Informix. I need to write C++ client code on Solaris to write data to an Informix Database with the Geodetic Datablade installed. I've looked at their Object C++ library (barf - horrible performance), ESQL(barf) and I looked at their ODBC implementation, Informix CLI. CLI looked pretty good and seemed to have ok performance. The only kicker is I can't figure out how to write out an Geo object from CLI. Any ideas/examples?
