From what I remember reading in this group a little while ago you might try
increasing the
SHMVIRTSIZE 8000 # initial virtual shared memory segment
and
SHMADD 8192 # Size of new shared memory segments
I seem to recall that you should size the SHMVIRTSIZE so that additional
memory segments are only added very occasionally, if at all.
There was also a suggestion that there is a limited number of shared memory
segments that can be added.
Remember that these additional segments are not freed when they are no
longer in use, onmode -F will free them, perhaps run from cron.(RTFM)
