Tan There are many options. You can code the query into a stored procedure or keep it as SQL, you could use either shell scripts with a here document, Perl with or without DBI/DBD::Informix (although I prefer the latter) and schedule it using cron or any other scheduling tool like Maestro. Hi, I need to automate a task to send a query output to a file periodically. How can I do this other than accessing it thru the DB Access? Is there a script or a procedure to do this? Anybody? Any ideas? Thanks. Fuilin.
