The rest is all fine, but I must correct this last point: 4Js, Querix *and* SuperNova all have different (i.e. non-Java) solutions to many or all of these problems. Also, Informix have recently licensed 4Js technology and are now offering their own "Dynamic 4GL" to address some of these issues. These are the vendors I'm aware of, there might even be more.
