Connecting from Windows to Informix on Unix

Is there any naming convention used to identify a Windows dektop or server in the $INFORMIXDIR/etc/hosts.equiv and $INFORMIXDIR/etc/users.equiv file? Details below. I am troubleshooting a Windows SSO login using ODBC to connect to HPUX hosting an Informix instance. Expect this should not matter for database connectivity. Test 1: where is the '@' coming from (in @sussman-l.nikeseclp.com[SUSSMAN-L.nikeseclp.com]).
