INFORMIX On-line 6.0 -25588

Hi, We're running INFORMIX On-line version 6.0 and are getting a -25588 when trying to open the database in an esql/c program. The program is not run directly from the command prompt but is started indirectly from another running process. We are able to run fine with "isql". The message says that the application process cannot connect to the on-line server. Any ideas what might cause this problem? Thanks, jim foxj@cc.bellcore.com
