It should be pointed out that this is a table level point-in-time restore that
is available in ontape and onbar. I believe only onbar can be used for
point-in-time restore of the instance.

Correct, the only choice you have to restore a point in the past using
ontape full restore
is to stop restoring after a specific logfile, which was stored about
that time.
There is no possibility to restore to a point in time before the archive
was taken (or you use
an older archive and restore logs up to your point in time).
But that is not comparable to onbar restore.
