My problem is the follows:
table 1 (t1) has a column that is a calculated value
updated whenever either of it's components is updated.
after this happens row by row, a second table needs to
be updated based upon key values in the columns in t1.
the first part of this trigger works fine - I can call
the procedure sp_calct1() with updated values & calc &
set a value for c3 for each row in t1.
However, when I try to create my trigger with the "AFTER"
action calling a stored procedure that expects parameters
to be passed to it, I get a syntax error. If I call a
stored prcedure with no parameters, the trigger is created
just fine.
When the syntax error is flagged the cursor (in DBACCESS) moves
to the first parameter in the procedure.
THIS FAILS:
create trigger t_upt1
update of c1, c2 on t1
referencing old as o new as n
for each row (execute procedure sp_calct1(n.c1, n.c2) into c3)
after (execute procedure sp_upt2(c4, c5));
THIS SUCCEEDS:
create trigger t_upt1
update of c1, c2 on t1
referencing old as o new as n
for each row (execute procedure sp_calct1(n.c1, n.c2) into c3)
after (execute procedure sp_upt2());
I am using Informix SE 5.02 under sunos 4.1.3
Anyone have any ideas about what I'm doing wrong or how to workaround
this limitation?
