Re: ASSERT FAILED?

Roland,
It sounds like your page cleaners are having trouble keeping up.
The page cleaners are the little guys responsible for flushing shared
memory data (physical log files, etc) to disk. If they take too long
to do this (more than 10 minutes?!) then Informix gets worried about them.
I believe that when they time out, the engine sends them a message
telling them to die (in case they are still around). Then, it starts
another cleaner in place of the dead one. No data would be lost here
since it's left in shared memory until the cleaner has definitively
written it to disk.
With all that in mind, why the heck would it take more than 10
minutes to flush your data?! Is there something odd about your
setup? Try using "onstat -F" to keep an eye on your page cleaner(s).
You might consider tuning your CLEANERS, LRUS, LRU_MAX_DIRTY, and
LRU_MIN_DIRTY parameters to help the process out. But, first I'd
try and figure out why they are getting lost.
