Its actually a good time to purchase IFMXE, if you have the spare cash and a strong stomache. And heres why: Informix 's problem is not due to a technical glitch in their product. They *do* have a strong product line. (Adding Linux would make it stronger. ;-) There problem was more of a clerical and managerial issue. (Lets just say they didn't follow GAAP well....) Informix's problems are easy to fix, once they identify all the issues and Finochio (sp?) is given the opportunity to clean house. There are other issues which they need to look at, but this is not the forum to discuss it. Compared to Sybase, which got lapped in the technology race, Informix is sitting fine. Its biggest threats are Oracle and IBM. Informix can get needed capital and is a relatively safe bet when it comes to tech companies. Of course, most of you probably don't remember the early nineties...
