Client SDK/IDS/OSs

I am going to get an SDK for AIX-4.3.3 for IDS-9.20 and found the following SDK versions available for AIX 4.3.3: 2.30 2.30 (64 bit) 2.40 2.40 (64 bit) How do I know which one will work with IDS-9.20 ? If they all work with an IDS version, is it a good idea to use the lastest version of an SDK ? Where can I find more information about 2.x (64 bit) SDK ? Informix has a matrix what shows what products with what OS releases but I wonder if there is a matrix somewhere that shows what SDK works with what IDS works with what OS releases ? Sorry for having quite a number of questions in one shot. Thanks, Thanh Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Before you buy.

For IDS.2000 (9.20) that would probably be one of the SDK v2.40's. As to whether to use the 32bit or 64bit version, again match the IDS version. If the version letters begin with U (ie 9.20UC2) you have a UNIX 32 bit version, if with an F (ie 9.20FC2) you have a UNIX 64bit version. > > If they all work with an IDS version, is it a good idea > to use the lastest version of an SDK ? > Yes, a later SDK version will always work with an older engine version. (Informix used to make noise about this not being recommended but that has changed since the SDK came out and replace ESQL/C.) > > Where can I find more information about 2.x (64 bit) SDK ? > The Informix WEB Site and sales offices. > > Informix has a matrix what shows what products with what OS releases > but I wonder if there is a matrix somewhere that shows what SDK works > with what IDS works with what OS releases ? I have not seen one. Art S. Kagel
