Re: Data Administration - Anyone Interested?

I can be reached via this newsgroup or ->amy_vorbeck@idexx.com Ignoring all the folks making light of such a request, this is really a very generous offer. I think some of the confusion comes in the term sponsor which several people seem to think has the sole meaning of shelling out big bucks. My interpretation is that this company would like more information on what the creation and administration of such a group requires before committing to it. I think the best person I know to provide you with information on the creation and administration of such a newsgroup would be Walt Hultgren, the person who created and has administrated this group (comp.datatabases.informix) for so many years (and a fine person in his own right to boot). If Walt has not already responded to you, e-mail him directly at walt@rmy.emory.edu and seek his advice. And in spite of all the fun being made at this offer, I have rarely seen such enthusiasm from so many people eager for the creation of such a group, and on the behalf of all of these people, I thank you for considering hosting this news group.
