ROM 2.1 works (partially) with SE
Posted in 1998
To continue a discussion from a couple of weeks ago... Having finally got a version of ROM 2.1 that installs (TD1), I have tested it on Win95 against an SE database on a SCO Unix system and it works, partly. The SQL Editor, View Editor, Trigger Editor and Stored Procedure Editor all work. The Database Explorer and Table Editor do not: they protest when asked to connect to SE. This is a pity, as I suspect I would find the Explorer useful. SQL Editor is useful for getting rows and columns into Windoze applications but is fairly useless for building queries as it has no facilities for looking up table and column names. (Yes, I know I could look in the systables and syscolumns - info tables etc does not work). Do any previous versions of Explorer work with SE? Are they available? -- Peter Lancashire Information Systems Specialist, Bayer plc Eastern Way, Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, IP32 7AH, UK Tel: +44-1635-562258, Fax: +44-1635-562281 --- If all else fails, read the instructions.
