/etc/hosts
IP hostnameA
IP hostnameB
/etc/services
serviceA numA/tcp
serviceB numB/tcp
$INFORMIXDIR/etc/sqlhosts
onlineA ol...tcp hostnameA serviceA
onlineB ol...tcp hostnameB serviceB
do not forget !!!
add hostnameA to hosts.equiv
/etc/hosts.equiv --- hostnameB
hostnameA
and vice versa at hostnameA
/etc/hosts.equiv
hostnameB
or better add hostnameA or hostnameB
to $HOME/.rhosts
for informix user and
to every user using onlineA
within connection to onlineB
if onlineA and onlineB are at the same
computer
you have to add its hostname to .rhosts
We have several instances of On line
at several computers
some of them are at the same computer
we had a few problems with connection
to On line WGS
because of default service
turbo 1526/tcp
we had to create dbserveraliases
with unique service
to be able to make connection
from one online to several
workgroups
another problem
with WGS - i do not know
how to make user trusted
on NT computer
as a result i can not do
connect to Unix_online
database database@NT_online
give me more information about your problems
