IS BUYING DATABASE SOFTWARE THING OF THE PAST ??

Early Warning: In near future nobody will buy database software from Microsoft, oracle, sybase, informix but they will be developed direct on the internet. Software development is no more a profitable business because of the internet explosion in U.S.A. and look at amount of software being developed on internet. Internet is growing at gigantic pace in U.S. You only need to buy good hardware and buying software is NOT worth at all!! Microsoft already is investing in other sectors like entertainment, cable, hardware, etc.. Microsoft is slowly moving away from software development. There are strong reasons from science which are as follows :- 1) "It is impossible to create a sofware package which is 100% bug free and which is 100% perfect" 2) "It is possible ONLY by a open system to create a software package which is near 100% perfect and is near 100% bug-free system. Closed system will never be able to create a near-perfect system. And open system can never reach 100% perfect system. The quality of open system will be always much greater than that of closed system" Open system is one where complete source code is given out to everyone, and development takes place over a extremely vast network of human brains on the internet. Closed system is the one where the source code is not given out and development is limited to only one time zone and done by a limited number of brains. This also leads to re-inventions of wheels (many database vendors) creating a system based on ONE standard specifications like ANSI SQL 1992. Also closed system is error prone and beset with lot of problems and is lot more expensive. You will spend hell lot of time and yet the system can NEVER match the quality of open system. Developers in closed system will suffer hell lot more than the developers of open system. Statistics says you can increase the quality of software only by opening it to a very vast number of brains and involving a vast number of population. But even if the entire human population of planet works on a software database project there will still be bugs and it takes time! Implications of these laws to Microsoft, Oracle, sybase, informix: By hiding the source code, companies can easily cheat the customer, make a fool of customer and can do lot of fraud on customer and can make the customer "very stupid". Microsoft, oracle, sybase, informix, customers and universities must work with "source code open" on the internet towards only one specification like ANSI SQL 1989/92/98, they should drop work on existing databases. They should combine their energies to eliminate re-invention of wheels. They all must work on PostgreSQL. Conclusion: Only "open system" will prevail in USA and "closed system" will be gone in USA in 21st century. This is IMMINENT and is bound to happen in next 5 to 6 years. That means Microsoft, Oracle, Sybase, Informix will not be developing and selling software but will be doing something else or they may disappear completely!! High quality software is actually at a lower price and most of the time poor quality software is at a much higher cost! In near future it will go public and it will be traded in New York stock exchange and NASDAQ. The organisation is owned by all the database customers in the world and it makes money by selling only the technical support, professional services and manuals, cdrom. But the organisation gives away the entire source code to public free! New York Stock Market says : "A good investor is one who will sell of stocks when they are very high and buy the stocks when they are very low. The difference will go into investor's pocket"
