Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.
User had Connection Manager startup errors (4001, 1002) with ClientSDK 4.10.FC10 using primary and RSS servers. Issue was misconfigured cmsm.cfg and sqlhosts: INFORMIXSERVER should reference the sqlhosts group name (g_cluster), not individual servers; DBSERVERS should use "primary" not "PRI"; and sqlhosts group definition needed correction with proper "e=" parameter pointing to RSS server name.

Hi,
I am trying to create one connection manager with ClientSDK 4.10.FC10 and
using one primary and one RSS, but I am having some errors 4001 and 1002 when
I try to start it:
ALARM 4001 unable to connect to Informix server srvinfx12_net from srvifxcm
error -951
ALARM 1002 Error: SLA listener failed, Connection Manager can not start
My cmsm.cfg:
NAME srvifxcm_net
LOGFILE ${INFORMIXDIR}/tmp/cm1.log
CLUSTER g_cluster
{
INFORMIXSERVER srvinfx12_net,srvinfx12rss_net
SLA oltp_w DBSERVERS=primary
FOC ORDER=RSS PRIORITY=1
CMALARMPROGRAM ${INFORMIXDIR}/etc/cmalarmprogram.sh
}
and my sqlhosts:
g_cluster group - - i=110,e=srvinfx12rss
srvinfx12_net onsoctcp srvinfx12 autarquia_tcp g=g_cluster
srvinfx12rss_net onsoctcp srvinfx12rss autarquia2_tcp g=g_cluster
oltp_w onsoctcp srvinfxcm autarquia_cm
Can somebody help me how to do it right!
Thanks
Some mixing up of parameters here.
In cmsm.cfg:
"CLUSTER g_cluster" is just for the benefit of Connection Manager. "g_cluster"
does not appear in sqlhosts.
"INFORMIXSERVER srvinfx12_net,srvinfx12rss_net" probably should be
"INFORMIXSERVER g_cluster".
I am being lazy and can't be bothered to check if they are synonyms but I
think "DBSERVERS=primary" should be "DBSERVERS=PRI".
In sqlhosts:
Option "e" specifies a database server name that marks the end of a database
server group. So it should be "e=srvinfx12rss_net" in your example.
HTH.
Ben.
For clarity since when reading it back to myself I realised I didn't explain
this bit very well:
"CLUSTER g_cluster" is just for the benefit of Connection Manager. "g_cluster"
does not appear in sqlhosts.
I mean that the value of the CLUSTER parameter does not appear in sqlhosts.
You do need "g_cluster" in sqlhosts because you are going to use it as the
value of INFORMIXSERVER.
Ben.

Thanks Ben,
I will check it, I am having some doubts about this configuration and also
finding information about.
I have searched over google but don't find too much documentation about...
SP
I wouldn't look anywhere other than the IBM Information Centre and
DeveloperWorks. The documentation is all there, especially if you don't have a
complicated cluster arrangement. You need to start with a solid sqlhosts group
set up.
Here is a useful link to that:

You can try this cmconfig:
NAME srvifxcm_net
LOGFILE ${INFORMIXDIR}/tmp/cm1.log
CLUSTER ha_cluster
{
INFORMIXSERVER g_cluster
SLA oltp_w DBSERVERS=primary
FOC ORDER=RSS PRIORITY=1
CMALARMPROGRAM ${INFORMIXDIR}/etc/cmalarmprogram.sh
}
