Version 9 has a new feature called "FUZZY CHECKPOINT". This is now the
default. Prior to version 9 all buffers were completely flushed on each
checkpoint (full sync checkpoint). The goal of Fuzzy checkpoints is to
reduce I/O and improve performance.
Check your $INFORMIXDIR/release directory for details about fuzzy wuzzy
checkpoints. There is no onconfig param for this, but there is an
environment variable to turn it off if you don't like it.

To disable fuzzy checkpoint, add this undocumented onconfig parameter
NOFUZZYCKPT 1
then restart Informix
