I'm sending this again in hopes of getting some response ---------- Forwarded message ---------- Date: Fri, 6 Oct 1995 21:12:25 -0500 (CDT) From:cherylk@spamis.jcdc.doleta.gov To: Informix List on WWW <informix-list@rmy.emory.edu> Subject: Tbunload on Unix System Informix Engine: 5.02 Unix System: UNIX RS6000 AIX 3.2 Tape drive device: /dev/rmt2 Why do we have to provide pointer variables to the tape drive to unload table from tape? We used tbunload to unload the many tables on this tape. Why doesn't tbload have enough knowledge concerning the tape to point directly to that table and then unload it? Does it perform the same way on 7.01? Thanks in advance for any response. cherylk@spamis.jcdc.doleta.gov
