}In response to the first question, We have been having the same problem.
When you delete records say for < than a number to gain space within that
table, the deletes may not take place in one spot. The deletes may be spread
out all over the extents space not allowing for more inserts. If the number
of records were in say numerical order and they deleted that way the space
gives way to more inserts.

}I had deleted one day to have the problem go away for awhile, but the next
time I had to delete it took much more than the first time to find the space
to do the inserts.
