INPUT ARRAY and how to ..?

Hi fellow Informix people. Well I've probably programmed lots of input arrays in my time and have moved on to other things but find myself back again... at input arrays aaaah. (tools 7.20 I think). I've seen the Informix source code as in Informix press books but its not half as much work as I remember it to be. There seems to be loads of different ways of doing an input array. I managed to find out once the order of interpretation but have since lost or never had the code to hand. What I'm refering to is the before delete, after insert ... order and what needs to be done around this bit. Basically does anybody out there have the right way to implement an input array (possibly with a hidden global array), or any links to good source code - All source code I've looked at never seems to do arrays properly or as I remember. Thanks in Advance Peter.

I have a set of library functions I wrote that implements an infinite INPUT ARRAY with a sliding window into the selected set of records. The window is larger than the array form so that scrolling within the window is immediate and only sliding the window needs to await database access. I also have a set of templates for building maintenance programs using the library. Once you get used to it, it takes about 2 hours to build a new 2 table maintenance function and not much longer to make that 3 or 4 tables (meaning 2, 3, or 4 nested forms). If you are interested I'll send it to you. Also check out the links on the IIUG site for a couple of sites that have similar code. Art S. Kagel
Yes, Source code would be more than handy and save me a lot of time, its always interesting to see other peoples way of doing things. I was also really after the order of execution (although I can get this from the source code if posted / mailed).of the input array control mechanisms. ie. before input before row before insert before delete after input after row after insert after delete What order are they parsed in??? I thought that on certain conditons some of them can be jumped, but cannot remember what if any. Thanks again for your time, Peter. Art, Is it possible and feasible for you to deposit this stuff in the IIUG software archive. If not I will be thankfull if you mail it. Thanks & regards, Henk "Art S.
