IBM Informix IDS Benchmarking.

Hi, So what's the story with IBM and TCO. I know the whole game is a silly PC vs. MAC contest and that its all about what works for you but.... There seems to be a push on for DB2 benchmarks from recent review of tpc.org although SQL Server seems to just beat the posted mark 10 days later. The Qn. is why don't IBM Benchmark IDS / XPS against ee / 8.1 (and all other databases for that matter)? Is IBM Informix Dynamic Server really that much of a DB2 UDB trouncing product? I'm sure everyone here thinks a context switch is quicker, is it? And what about Informix on S390? Isn't there a ppt slideshow with notes stating Informix benchmarks for May '03?

I am pretty happy with XPS right now, and would be interested in benchmark numbers. Had to unload/reload some data this weekend. 75 GB, 1.2 billion rows 28 minutes to unload, 33 to load I guess that only works out to 45 MB/sec, 600,000 records a second, I am quite curious what kind of speed people have seen on other databases for unloads/loads, but don't know how to ask in the other newsgroups without starting flame wars.
