Hi, My system is running sco5.0.4 with informix SE. I increased my memory from 512MB to 1G recently, but it appeared to me that the performace was the same. When reboot , I saw from console that the total memory was 1G with no mistake. Must I tune any database parameter after increasing memory to system? How can I check if my database is actually configered with 1G memory? any message from you will be appreciated. best regards

SE Can't specifically be configured to use any particular amount of memory. It will attempt to use what it needs, and beyond that, the extra system memory is superfluous (though it might help if you have a lot of users all running at once). It sounds as if you were not suffering from memory shortage but (presumably) either CPU capacity or disk i/o bandwidth. Of course, whenever you fix one of these bottlenecks, one of the others becomes the problem. -- Jonathan Leffler #include <disclaimer.h> Email: jleffler@earthlink.net, jleffler@us.ibm.com Guardian of DBD::Informix v2003.04 -- http://dbi.perl.org/
