Re:installing Informix 4gl on Linux

I have informix SE in one directory (/opt/informix) and informix 4gl in another (/opt/informix/4gl730uc1_linux) I have a script which sets the INFORMIXDIR value according to my choice , (SE or 4GL). Everything works fine when l run the SE option, dbaccess works fine and connects to the stores7 database. To test the 4gl option , l wrote the following program and got the errors below : database stores7 main define ans char(1) prompt "hello" for ans END MAIN when l compile it using ' c4gl a.4gl -o a.4ge'_linux l get the following errors : Network driver cannot access the server program /opt/informix/4gl730uc1_linux/ lib/sqlexec See error -25584 The database stores7@demo_se cannot be found or opened. see error -4305 This file (sqlexec) is actually in /opt/infomix - which is the path for the SE engine (INFORMIXDIR for SE option) but because l wanted to run a 4gl program (INFORMIXDIR=/opt/informix/4gl730uc1_linux ) When l am in option 1( Informix SE) everything works fine and it picks up and reads the database store7. The following enviroment variables are used. INFORMIXDIR=/opt/informix/4gl 730uc1_linux (option 2) INFORMIXSERVER=demo_se INFORMIXSQLHOSTS=/opt/informix/etc/sqlhosts ( is this correct) DBPATH=/opt/informix/dbtest (holds stores7 database) Hope this info is sufficient Thank You Mr B Singh
