Load a whole table into shared memory

Hi all!! Does anyone know which informix-online-version is nessecary to load a whole table into shared memory and which command is nessecary to load it?? Thanks in advance. Matthias Meyerhoefer

You need version 7.30+. The table is not actually read entirely into memory it is simply assigned to HIGH PRIORITY buffer class status such that only pages belonging to another RESIDENT table can cause any pages actually read in to be flushed out once they are read in. The command is: SET TABLE mytable MEMORY RESIDENT; You can also make INDEXES resident and for fragmented tables/indexes you can indicate that only certain fragments (by dbspace) are to be resident in memory.
