DataStage / DB2 data transfer

I am trying to move data between DB2 UDB on AS/400 and Informix running on Solaris using Data Stage ETL. I have been able to get that connection to work with Merant ODBC client/server suite, but that solution is rather expensive. I have been told that this can also be accomplished with IBM's Client Application Enabler. I have downloaded the Version 6.1 of the runtime, but I can't get it to connect. Here is what I have done so far on the client: 1) Set up the server in /etc/inet/hosts 2) Set up a port in /etc/inet/services 3) Uncompressed and un-tar-ed CAE 4) Installed CAE using db2_install 5) Run db2icrt 6) Catalog-ed the tcpip node 7) Catalog-ed the database However, "db2 connect to dbname" fails with SQLSTATE = 08001. This is a rather generic error message telling me that I can't connect to the database on the host. TCP/IP is running on the server.
