Anyone know of limitations with the length of RUN > commands before I start? Nope, but heres a different work around. Write two reports. The first report is the mail list receiptiants. I assume that this list is dynamic, so you don't want to create a mail alias. write this report to file. Then write the second report to the mail pipe using the first file as a mail list. So your 4GL program looks like this. START REPORT bld_alias() blah, blah, END REPORT bld_alias START REPORT bld_rpt() blah, blah blah, etc... END REPORT REPORT bld_alias() balh output to file <YOUR MAIL HEADER FILE> blah, blah END REPORT REPORT bld_rpt() blah output to pipe "mailx :include:<YOUR MAIL HEADERFILE>" blah blah monotonous isn't it END REPORT. According to the sendmail man page : :include:filename sendmail reads filename for a list of recipient addresses and forwards the message to each. Hope this helps. -Mikey
