Palani Kumar asked for the best tool to build Windows client-server applications against Informix 7.3 on Sun. Replies suggested Delphi or C++ Builder (Imran Hussain), PowerBuilder (mike talbot), IBM VisualAge for Smalltalk (Jun Nolasco) and Centura Team Developer 1.1 (Leonid). No single recommendation was agreed.

Hi
We have Sun Server with Informix v7.3 database. Can you suggest
the best development tool to make client server (MS Windows Clients)
application ?
Right now, an application is running which was developed old
versions of dev. tools.
Thanks in advance.
Kumar

Check out Powerbuilder from Sybase . It is an excellent RAD tool for
client-server applications.

We use IBM's VisualAge For Smalltalk to all of our apps (client/server,
distributed, web). It is a very comprehensive enterprise development
tool (more so than it's Java counterpart) that is available and can
produce applications for Windows, Solaris, Aix, and HP/UX. For more
info, go to:

We are using "Centura Team Developer 1.1".
