That's just plain wrong unless you are using a version of 5.xx earlier than
5.08. Versions 5.00 through 5.07 had an undetected bug that did miss some
pages sometimes when archives were taken during heavy activity, bu it was
corrected in 5.08 and OL6.01 through all IDS versions use different
algorithms for detecting pages to archive and so NEVER suffered from this
problem!

Ummm, actually the pages for archive are gathered by the same thread code for
either ontape or onbar, it's just that a different task is listening on the
pipe. If ontape is broken, then onbar is also.
