Hi friends , Now we face a problem , a dbspace is full but we do not want to add disk space for this dbspace , there are 4 databases located in this dbspace , I know delete rows in the tables will not release the spaces , we must drop some tables or do the tbcheck/dbexport/dbimport to reallocate the extent , what is the usage of statement "update statistic " our informix env is online version 5 Thanks JianJun -----------== Posted via Deja News, The Discussion Network ==---------- http://www.dejanews.com/ Search, Read, Discuss, or Start Your Own
UPDATE STATISTICS builds statistics about your data and stores it in tablesthat will be used by the OnLine optimiser to decide on access paths for your
SQL STATEMENTS. It's irrelevant to your situation.
Your best course of action is to delete rows if you can, then unload, drop,
re-create and reload into those tables from which you have deleted rows or
that tbcheck suggests have a large amount of free space.
