Question about RS/6k's running with an Online engine.

The powers that be here at the center have decreed that the hospital, center and college unify on one machine/database. Currently the college is running a canned COBOL package on top of an Online engine 5.03 with approximately 50 users. We are happy with the performance of our RS/6000 model 580 (256MB, 7 disks for 13gig). We would end up with approximately 100-120 users with about 25gig of information online at a time and are looking at replacing our 580. Now the question. Is there anyone currently using multiple RS/6000s (R30) either with 5.0x or 7.x? We are looking for pointers or information on implementation strategies. We would like to improve the performance from the current level even though we are more than doubling are users. OR Is anyone running on an RS/6k running AIX 4.x using an SMP box, as this also becomes an option using a J30? And yes a decision is to be made by July 1 of this year.
