We find it too easy to do level 0 backups, even on our large databases, to justify the hassle of keeping up with all those incremental things. The old SE databases, with no OnLine archiving, were different, but now that we can archive while users do their thing I just do the whole enchilada during a low-use time of day. We are running ~20 instances of OnLine in a 24x7 operation, with very reliable hardware, and we are pretty happy with this scheme. __________________________________________________________________ | Clem Akins Standard Disclaimers Apply | |Reynolds Metals Co, Alloys Plant "Climb High, Cave Deep!" | | Muscle Shoals, Alabama USA cwakins@leia.alloys.rmc.com | |________________________________________________________________|
