Who said that was the "cool thing" about it? I just like the little colorful icons. Oh yeah, and wordpad kicks vi's butt any day of the week. =P > >Depends on the application, obviously. > >Yes, of course, if you _need_ a half-assed, completely daft, half-finished >operating system with bollocks tools, compulsory reboots, shite performance >and poor scalability as part of your application, NT is definitely the way >to go. > >I would not laud the performance/scalability/etc. of NT over UNIX, but, >yes, I >use it, and yes, it works fine for my applications. Remember, the "dumb end user" definition disallows the use of this OS. =) Regardless of how easy WE think it is. Though it is cheaper. But anything free is worth the price you pay for it (Which makes me wonder why Microsoft doesn't pay you to own NT). >plenty of >applications that do not involve mission critical (or anything close to is) >performance nor the involvement of qualified personal (one of the better >points >of Informix). But you know this. I personally use AIX and HPUX. Sure, I'm living proof that you don't need anything like a qualified person to run an Informix shop.
