How to avoid "warning: attempted multiple inclusion of file"

Hallo! On compiling my ESQL/C-programs I get always the following warnings (sometimes even twice): ld: /usr/lib/libnsl.so: warning: attempted multiple inclusion of file ld: /usr/lib/libresolv.so: warning: attempted multiple inclusion of file Who can explain me, what happens? The programs work all very well - it seems to cause no problems. Is it 'only' a configuration-problem, and can I ignore it, or may it cause some trouble in certain situations? Many thanks in advance Edgar

It means that by the time the C compiler (more strictly, the linker or loader) is running, there are two instances of -lnsl -lresolv on the command line. You should probably check to see whether the esql script itself mentions them; if so, you should not do so. If the esql script itself repeats the libraries, that is arguably a bug. -- Jonathan Leffler (jleffler@informix.com, jleffler@earthlink.net) Guardian of DBD::Informix v0.60 -- see http://www.perl.com/CPAN #include <disclaimer.h>
