We are currently using Powerbuilder and Informix for IMAGE applications. The average image size is about 60-100KByte, and we are running token ring with 16MBit. The response time to retrieve and display an image is something like half a second with 20 active users. It did happen a few time before that the system was slow. But it alwarys turned out that the network has problem. You can do the following test to see whether your problem is network related. Enter the following two commands: arp -a netstat -r If the response to any of the above commands is slow, you have network problem. If it is not network related issue, I believe you need to check both the client and server configuration. Chao
